Camllie

It is every parent’s worst nightmare for their young child to have a life-threatening disease. Sadly, it is one that Camllie’s parents went through.

3-year-old Cammlie is an active child who loves playing with water and spending time outdoors. Just a young child and already fighting for her life. She was originally diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in July 2017. After prolonged treatment Camllie went into remission in December 2017, only to relapse recently, just after starting nursery school.

As none of her family are a suitable match, Camllie is reliant on finding an unrelated donor on the stem cell registry to give her the very best chance of survival. A donor was found for Camllie and she had a transplant in October 2018.

This is a message from her mother. “To all our lovely supporters, thank you for your kind words for Camllie and your concern about her progress. She continues on the long path to recovery and we are thankful at how brave our little Camllie is as she undergoes the ongoing treatment that forms part of this journey. Currently she is battling CMV infection and Graft-versus-Host disease, due to her low immune system. This is all part of the transplant journey and we continue to receive the best care we could hope for.”
