JiEun (Julie)

Julie was in desperate needs of finding a donor. Julie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with an FLT3 mutation in January 2018 and needed a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. Julie is a 35 year-old Korean-American wife and mother of a 3 year-old girl and a 6 year-old boy, a veteran of the US Navy, and a children’s dentist who provides free care to children from disadvantaged homes.
Life expectancy without treatment is only a couple months from the last round of chemotherapy without a bone marrow transplant. In Julie’s case, she will begin her last round of chemotherapy soon. We are very happy to report that JiEun had a transplant and is recovering.
