Kapil and his wife were expecting their third child. With the excitement of this new arrival, they learned that Kapil had Myelofibrosis, a rare form of blood cancer. “My condition is deteriorating very quickly and my ONLY chance of survival is getting a stem cell transplant as soon as possible!” A person not yet registered was needed to help save his life. Because ethnicity plays a crucial role, he needed the South Asian/Indian community to help. Kapil was not able to find a blood stem cell donor, however, he received a cord blood transplant in August 2017.
