Kevin

Kevin Weston was a 44 year old news media journalist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. In August 2012, Kevin was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of leukemia. A bone marrow match would help save his life. Kevin’s ethnicity is African-American. Only about 8% of the nation’s 10 million registered bone-marrow donors are Black, which made his chance of finding a bone marrow match quite slim. Kevin was a loving father and devoted husband as well as a highly respected figure in the journalism community, mentoring aspiring writers towards fulfilling their dreams. He was a long-time mentor to aspiring journalists of color, Kevin’s life has touched many. He fought his fight to the very end and leave a legacy to all who fought with him.
