Lara is 24 years old and a very giving person. She speaks 5 languages, studied Global Migration, volunteers with at-risk youth and marginalized groups. She lives in London and was just diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Lara’s family and friends launched a global campaign, in her name, in the UK, Thailand and then in the U.S. Finding a donor for Lara was difficult because of her heritage. Her mother is Thai-Chinese and her father is Italian. Lara’s only sibling, Sebi, was not a match. Lara found a marrow donor and received her transplant in March 2016. Lara is home and doing very well.
