Lori

Lori, 41 years old, was a single mother of 3 and an ICU Nurse. She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on July 2011. She needed a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor to fully recover from this disease. Her only sibling (sister) was not a match. Lori was of Filipino and Chinese descent, and ethnicity is a key factor in determining a donor match.  Lori found a donor and received a marrow transplant, however, she passed away on August, 2012 due to infections.  Please keep Lori’s family in your thoughts.
