I am a mom, a wife, and a friend.  Teaching has been my passion. I was a professor of Physics for 28 years in India.

 

Shortly after my move to the US and my retirement, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)- a form of blood cancer that can only be cured by a bone marrow transplant.

Since ethnicity plays a crucial role when finding a donor and South Asians/Indians make only 2% in the registry. Many patients like me don’t end up finding a donor match.
