Sophia is 6 years old. Her smile suggests she’s the picture of health, but the translucent skin indicates severe aplastic anemia. She is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant because her little body cannot keep relying on blood transfusions. Her mixed heritage, made up of half Filipino and half a combination of Spanish, Irish, and Italian, has made it extremely difficult for her to find a suitable donor.
